At Equally Different, we measure the number of change agents we train through our programs. We’ve been doing this since our start on January 1, 2015. The term change agent comes from the English “Change agent.” For Equally Different, it means a person who contributes to positive change through conscious, empathetic, and inclusive social behaviors—every day.

The goal is to reach an entire nation to fundamentally strengthen the well-being and potential of an entire generation.

A single person can move an entire mountain—did you know that? “I can’t stand by and watch people treat each other negatively,” said Equally Different’s founder Mary Juusela in 2015, when she launched the social education company Equally Different and completed the Equally Different Method tool.

“To live a life of peace of mind and mental stability, where you can breathe fresh air and explore what life means to you—I believe that is a human right. Educating as many people as we can in social skills is therefore a responsibility that I and everyone else share. We are role models for one another.”

The goal is to educate a nation in inclusion and empathy, person by person, before passing the baton to the next generation to find a new vision for Equally Different.

To increase positive social behaviors between people! Why? Because humans are social beings—pack animals—who need to feel part of a community in order to function and thrive in life. We believe everyone has the right to make their life journey in peace, without hate, threats, or routine negative behaviors from others.

Yes, there are many negative social behaviors that contribute to exclusion, loneliness, and mental health issues. But at Equally Different, after working with over 100,000 people, we know that at our core, we are fair, kind-hearted, and feel good when we do kind things.

That’s why Equally Different’s daily educational work is about helping more people, through inspiration, knowledge, and practical tools, to consciously choose more inclusive and empathetic social behaviors.

Because we’re going to meet, bump into, and interact with one another. And then carry all of it home with us.

We work with nudging!

Equally Different’s products, services, and coaching efforts are all strategic activities designed to “nudge” individuals and groups to co-act, co-operate, and co-exist by encouraging more people to adopt empathetic and inclusive behaviors in everyday life. These behaviors are crucial for improving well-being and potential in both the short and long term—for individuals, groups, and local communities alike.

Nudging is a well-established behavioral science method used to guide people toward desired behaviors by systematically motivating, inspiring, and reminding them to align their will and actions. Today, nudging is used by governments and companies worldwide.
